This a day I’ve looked forward to for nearly a decade, then working during the last year with a team of family, friends, and professionals who became friends, to put together a beautiful story and book. We met every deadline along the way to get us to this day. Such reason to celebrate! Conception, content, design, printing, binding, and shipping to the “distribution center” are complete.

Masters week. A Tradition Unlike Any Other. I thought this would be a great time and place to share some of my favorite Masters traditions and moments.

You’ve already been introduced to one of the key folks behind the scenes of Letters to a Future Champion, MK Rotenberry, in this series of blogs. MK’s signature “hashtag” on her social media posts is “#AlwaysLearning,” referencing the ongoing learning process under way when you are pursuing your goals.

Writing Letters to a Future Champion has taught me many new skills and lessons, but at the core has been time management. The book project was launched in earnest during the darkest days of the Covid-19 lockdowns. I had plenty of time on my hands, but as we moved into summer, I was faced with writing a book that was taking on a much larger scale while returning to my job at CBS as the lead walking reporter for our PGA Tour coverage.

After putting together a rough plan for the letters and their topics, it became apparent that we had something much bigger; that I needed to tell Mr. Pulver’s life in greater detail than he had ever shared. It was my job to fully introduce my mentor to the reader, and there was no one better to do that than my “right hand gal” at CBS Sports, MK Rotenberry.

Thank you for joining me on what has quite literally been a lifetime journey. Meeting my mentor and beloved PGA professional, George J. Pulver, Sr. was a turning point in my life, not only from a teenager’s golfing perspective and trajectory, but from a life-lessons and education perspective that continues today.
