WELCOME TO MY WAREHOUSE
As I sit in the tiny Hilton Head, S.C., airport watching the sunrise, I’m struck by the thought that while this is normal Monday travel for me, this is anything but a normal Monday morning. Today marks the official launch of Letters to a Future Champion, introducing the world to George J. Pulver, Sr., who provided the foundation for not only my career as a professional golfer but for who I am away from the game.
This a day I’ve looked forward to for nearly a decade, then working during the last year with a team of family, friends, and professionals who became friends, to put together a beautiful story and book. We met every deadline along the way to get us to this day. Such reason to celebrate! Conception, content, design, printing, binding, and shipping to the “distribution center” are complete.
Now comes the hard part.
Fulfillment and customer service. That, as the author of a self-published work, is all on me. That “distribution center” is in my home. Every order will be hand inspected, personalized and/or autographed, packing slip and shipping label printed, boxed, taped, and taken to the shipping depot.
I love this process and am so darn proud of this book. I’m thrilled that so many want to read about my humble hero and how he shaped not only my life, but many others’ lives. He constantly preached patience with me (I was obviously a lousy student!) and how there will be discouraging moments in life — but also how you have the internal reserve to find a way through them.
I’m going to take this fulfillment process the way Mr. Pulver looked at tournament golf: shot by shot, or in this case, book by book. I’m going to find a way to get them to you as quickly as I can while still preparing to the utmost for every show we do at CBS — and while maintaining a healthy body and home/life balance.
Thank you for your faith and your patience. It will be worth the brief wait for your order. I personally promise.
