7-time LPGA tournament winner and current golf broadcaster Dottie Pepper will be honored with one of golf’s most prestigious awards —the Gold Tee – by the Metropolitan Golf Writers Association.

A Saratoga Springs native, national broadcaster Dottie Pepper is a 17-time LPGA winner and a trailblazer for women’s golf. She is also the lead walking reporter for CBS Sports’ coverage of the PGA Tour, Masters and PGA Championship.

Saratoga native and two-time major champion Dottie Pepper hosted a reading of her book "Letters to a Future Champion" at the Ballston Spa Public Library on Saturday.

But after months of virtual Q&As and online chats (including with our own Northshire Bookstore), the native Saratogian is hitting the Ballston Spa Public Library.

Dottie Pepper is the lead walking reporter for CBS Sports coverage of the PGA tour, Masters and PGA Championship. She played 17 years on the LPGA tour, winning 17 times — including two majors.

Those stories and more are told in Dottie Pepper’s new book, “Letters to a Future Champion: My time with Mr. Pulver,” a labor of love that the two-time major champion crafted during the COVID-19 pandemic as a tribute to mentorship.

Dottie Pepper is one of the greatest athletes to come out of Saratoga Springs, and this year she published a book about her journey and the advice that's guided her through out her life. "Letters to a Future Champion" is about Dottie's relationship with her mentor and golf coach George Pulver and came out earlier this year.

Dottie Pepper has fond memories of Michigan, having won the 1999 Oldsmobile Classic, the second-to-last of her 17 LPGA Tour victories coming in East Lansing.

Determined, dedicated and detail-oriented, Dottie Pepper is one of the greatest athletes — male or female — in Capital Region history.
