BY THE NUMBERS!
What do the numbers 71, 33, 5,130, and 3,550 have in common?
For most people, likely not much.
For me, the first number represents how many calendar days (71) since this 10 straight weeks of golf on CBS began, leaving home as the sun rose on Easter Sunday and now returning after two major championships and eight regular PGA tour events are in the books. Seems hard to believe, but we have just seven events remaining on our PGA Tour television schedule for 2021.
And the other numbers?
33: The number of flight legs it’s taken to get to and from those 10 events. I may jinx myself, but with one leg to go, there has yet to be a delay of more than 10 minutes. I know, insane to say that, but it is true (and now I’ve probably cursed the rest of the schedule)
5,130: The number of dollars we gave to the Saratoga WarHorse this weekend from the first three months of sales of Letters to a Future Champion. I say “we” because it was a team effort by all of you who so enthusiastically supported the book. Ten percent of sales (minus discounts, tax and shipping) went straight to the organization, an amount that will only get bigger when I reveal the next number:
3,550: The number of books coming in the first reprinting of Letters to a Future Champion, of which 3,000 will be paperbacks. Stay tuned for the pre-order announcement, arrival, and shipping dates. This will be, again, a “we” moment as your support of the first printing allowed the paperback goal to be met. I wanted to get Letters to a Future Champion and its evergreen wisdom in the hands of many more people—and hopefully lots of kids and coaches—at an affordable price. Together we have done that, and I could not be more excited or grateful.
Thank you!
